Tony Wishert is married to Tammy Pullin Wishert. Tony and Tammy are natives of Runge, Texas. Matthew, their son, is married to Marilyn Marshall Wishert. They are parents of the Wishert's three precious grandchildren. Leah, their daughter, is in her final year of college at one of our fine Texas schools. Tony and Tammy are graduates of Baylor University, and Tony received his masters degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

After pastoring two churches in Texas for a number of years, the Wisherts then served overseas for over 13 years as missionaries with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Tony has been serving as pastor of First Baptist Church of Ganado since January 1, 2008.

Hello from Tony

Thank you for visiting our website!

It is truly a privilege to serve as pastor of First Baptist Ganado.  God has given us a wonderful church family to serve alongside, in order to further the kingdom of God.

Since arriving as pastor, I am daily reminded of the many needs that exist in the world.  Most of all, I am convinced that each and every person needs to have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Here at First Baptist, we pray that all we do will bring honor and glory to our Heavenly Father, and that Jesus will always be exalted.  We also strive to serve each other, build each other up, and seek to love one another in a way that honors Christ.

At the same time, we feel a strong sense that we must fulfill the Great Commission to "go and make disciples."  Worship, Bible study, fellowship, evangelism, discipleship and ministry are priorities that guide our church.

If I can ever be of service to you in any way, please don't hesitate to let me know.

In Christ,

Tony
