Ministries

First Baptist seeks to prepare this generation and the next for ministry by growing together. Our Bible studies and ministries strive to apply God’s unchanging truth (the Bible) to an ever-changing world (real life). We do this in a variety of ways. Read below for information on some of the ways you can grow with us into the likeness of Jesus.

Student Ministry

The student ministry is here to challenge teens grades 6-12 to love God and become more like Jesus. Students grow through engaging Bible study, games, and events. Students meet Wednesdays at 7PM and plan fellowship events throughout the year.

Sunday Bible Study

Our Sunday morning Bible study time offers sections for all ages. These classes provide a relational environment through which the church can share life and learn to live as followers of Jesus. Sunday School is one of the best avenues through which people can connect to the church family. Children begin at 9:45AM and adults begin at 10:00AM.

Children’s Ministry

Children are very important to us. We make every effort to provide quality ministry that creates a safe, fun, nurturing, and educational atmosphere for our kids to learn about and experience God’s love.

Our children’s and nursery workers complete background checks and love serving kids and their families. We hope to see all children choose Christ and live a life in love with Him.

Men and Women

Our men meet several times a year for fellowship and devotionals. We also participate in a men’s retreat and do service projects as they are scheduled.

Our women meet throughout the year for home fellowships, special Bible studies, craft projects, and service projects. They are an active group of ladies. Our ladies have the opportunity to meet both
on Sunday morning during the Sunday School hour and Wednesday nights during the Bible study hour.

Sunday Worship

Sunday morning worship at First Baptist begins at 11:00AM. We read the Bible as a church and hear it preached for life-change, pray together and individually, and sing songs both classic and modern.

Our nursery is staffed during the entire worship service for children birth-2. After the church prayer time, children pre-school through Kindergarten are invited (not required) to attend extended session with a children’s volunteer. Once per month, we have Children’s Worship (5th grade and younger) and teach our children about worship during the extended session time.

Serving

First Baptist seeks to actively serve according to Acts 1:8. We serve in Ganado, our region, our nation, and our world. Financially, we support the Texas Baptist Encampment in Palacios, Texas, our regional baptist association, the South Texas Children’s Home in Pettus, Texas, our state convention’s missions, and national and international Baptist mission organizations.

Physically we schedule local service projects as needs and opportunities arise. Our missions and outreach team is focused on spreading the gospel throughout our community and region.
